Specialty coffee — roasted on site

Slow mornings,
well roasted.

A neighbourhood coffee house on Lantern Street. We roast single-origin beans in small batches, bake every morning, and know most orders by heart.

Our story

Roasted twelve steps from your table.

Ember Lane started in 2019 with a five-kilo roaster, a borrowed espresso machine and a stubborn idea: coffee tastes better when the person who roasted it hands you the cup.

Every bean we serve is roasted in the back room you can see from the counter — in batches small enough to throw away when we get it wrong, and we occasionally do. The pastry case is filled at 6 a.m. by our own kitchen, not a delivery van.

Come for the flat white. Stay because nobody will hurry you out.

A washed heirloom lot from the Danche washing station — bright, floral and a little unreasonable. Roasted on Tuesdays; rested a week before it reaches the grinder.

Came for a quick coffee, stayed four hours. Twice. Nobody blinked.

Ask whatever's on the Tuesday roast. Then buy a bag. Thank me later.
